A few weeks ago, Co-founder, Diana Newton hand delivered a Silver Star Banner to an individual who works in a hardware store. Every time Diana would go in she would see "Al" working and wearing a Purple Heart hat. One day Diana arrived and got the owner of the store and they went out front where Al was presented the Silver Star Banner. He was very touched. But after everyone left Al talked with Diana alone. He told a horrendous story of being the one of two persons left alive in his unit, which was on a patrol in Vietnam. He told Diana how grateful he was to her for the Banner and for remembering him.
