I had an awesome day today at the VA in Bonham, TX. There were many organizations represented. We each had an assigned space. Then they had the staff come through with duffle bags to fill for the veterans in the nursing home part of the VA. Then they had the group from the domicilary come through. Finally they had the rest that are able to walk through. There were over 225 people! There were groups that gave out socks, fruit, candy, stockings, blankets (Soldier's Angels), and more! I had little stockings with candy in them, cookies, toothbrushes, cards and lots of SSFOA info! I gave out LOTS of business cards and LOTS of SSFOA info! It was great. The only bad things, was that I ran out of things to give out! I will know next year!

The veterans were all so appreciative! I can't begin to tell you how much they appreciated everything. Just being remembered meant a lot to them. I donated books for their library and some packages of t-shirts too.

I met many people that will keep me connected. I met some people from the Dallas VA too. They want me to come and do a presentation to their staff after the holidays.

If you have the chance to visit your local VA over the holidays, it is worth it! To see those smiling faces is worth your time and the trip! We are their family!

Blessings, Love & Hugs to all! May each of you have a blessed Christmas!

Debbie Alderson presenting a SS Flag to Bonnie Barnette from the Circle B Ranch in San Saba, Texas. Bonnie and her brother, Bob are the proprietors of the ranch. They have Veterans come to hunt on their property for free. What an honor to be able to both honor these generous people, as well as to have our Silver Star Flag flying at their ranch, for all of the Veterans to see!
