2007 SILVER STAR DAY A GREAT SUCCESS IN OKLAHOMA

Hi Everyone,
What a wonderful day today. I came to the city yesterday and traveled to the capital with my Air Force son Adam.  He looked so handsome in his dress blues.

We met many people from my area of the state as well as the wonderful Senator Barrington from Lawton who sponsored the resolution declaring May 1st as Silver Star Day.  Every Senator and Represenative were invitied and encouraged to co-sign the resolution.  I received a copy of what was proposed, which is what Steve received, then we will receive the ones with the official seals, etc. after everyone has had an opportunity to sign.

We had our picture taken many times and I will share those as soon as I get them. My son was introduced to the legislature also.  This was a wonderful statement for us to have a decorated military person at my side. Today opened many doors and this was the first offical day of legislative proceedings.  We may be slow approaching things in Oklahoma but Silver Star Families did come in with a big splash.  We even had other legislators hunting us down to introduce themselves before the session.

All of them said they would like to help Oklahoma know about Silver Star Families.

It had been raining all day, but as we walked up the steps of the capital building the sun came shining through.

May God be with us all.
Ginger

God Bless and Keep all of you and yours safe.

March 17, 2007   Ginger went to VFW Post 2592 in Bernice, OK
The post commander set up the meeting and Ginger presented the mission of SSFOA and Silver Star Day. The day was a great success with
several asking about buying multiple banners and flags.  The VFW also told Ginger they would help her get some plans together to honor Veterans on May 1st.
