Ryan was a very bright young man, committed to the
service of others, and always had an interest in the military.

He was taking criminal justice classes at a community college
when he decided to enlist in the Marine Corps.  He was out of
shape and  overweight, but started running and dieting to meet
the enlistment requirement.

After the School of Infantry, he was trained as a TOW gunner and assigned to the Scout Platoon, 2nd Tank Batillion, Camp Lejeune. A military occupation that would not allow him to be on the front line was not acceptable to Ryan.

While on patrol in the Al Anbar Province, Iraq,  his humvee encountered an IED. He, along with the gunner (L Cpl Derrick Cothran) and vehicle commander (Cpl Pablo Mayorga),
were killed.

We are forever grateful for his service, and his life.  Whenever we think of Ryan, we think of his smile, and kind heart.
Through this memorial, we continue to honor him and his life.  We have appreciated your support and wish to offer other GRIEVING Families
the same that you have shown us.
