WELCOME TO THE CHAPLAINS CORNER!

As the new chaplain for the Silver Star Families, it is in my heart to
humbly place before you my thoughts about this great organization.  I
rather suspect it amounts to bearing others pain more often then not. I
see men, and now women returning home from combat for example, and finding
out there journey has only begun towards a reasonable life.  I myself have
run this gauntlet, and have seen the terrible emotional and physically pain
that comes from war, and my wife tells me that I have changed into someone
that could only have been remodeled by God himself.  I find myself loving
every child I see no matter what their race, cherishing what God has
created and given us in the way of what we call family.  Today I hope we
can realize that we are facing something bigger then all of us, we are
facing a great nation that has changed so much since I was a teen in the
fifties.  I am only one person, and yes I can pray for each and every one
of you, but I can guarantee you that my prayers are not long.  They are
centered around asking for God's will, and not my own.  I spend little
time asking God to do things in a certain way that I desire, as I know in
the end his will prevails.

I have seen with my own eyes, man's inhumanity to man, and been on the
receiving end of it.  What most don't realize, is how it changes you,
puts you in an invisible realm of humbleness, and causes you to view
almost everything through the eyes of God.  It is my earnest prayer that
God will guide me in helping this organization in whatever direction he
pleases.

Thank you Steve and to your wife for the welcome mat.  When you said,
"Welcome home", I knew you were very serious.  I found Silver Star
Families in what I considered an accident, when looking for help for my
deceased brother in arms, and his daughter. Looking back I know now this
was no accident, and again another path placed before me by God himself.
I am a man wanting to depend on what God has for me, and passing it on to
others.  I hope that will suffice.
