SSFOA member, Gene Buehl, also a member of the Fourth (or Patriotic) Degree of the Knights of Columbus. With information from Faithful Navigator Bert Verger, submitted a Proclamation to the Mayor of Escondido, Lori Holt Pfeiler, declaring May 1st "Silver Star Families of America Day" in Escondido. On the Thursday prior, F.N. Bert and a cadre of Sir Knights from the Fr. Jeremiah Murphy Assembly, No. 2311, went to the mayor's office to receive the proclamation.
SSFOA member, Cheryl Egan, submitted a Proclamation to the Mayor of Fairfield, CA,which was signed, declaring May 1st "Silver Star Families of America Day" in Fairfield.
