The Silver Star Families of America
~ARKANSAS~
State Coordinator Carrie Tucker and Linda Dominik participated in the National Park Community College (Hot Springs, Arkansas) “Opportunity Day” on October 25, 2006, and it was a huge success!  Over 20 non-profit organizations participated with 450+ students and staff in attendance at the event. Volunteerism took a big leap on this day, and the organizations are ready for 2007. SSFOA brochures providing Silver Star history and the SSFOA mission was distributed along with a “Sponsor A Banner” brochure to the faculty, students, and community residents in attendance.

"All photos and letters sent to the SSFOA become the property of the organization to be used in any way we deem appropriate."

November 20, 2006 Linda Spurlin-Dominik met with the officers and members of the  Disabled American Veterans (DAV) James  L. Whitby Chapter #5 of Hot Springs, AR to provide information about the Silver Star Families of America and their mission to recognize and honor our wounded heroes via a presentation of the Silver Star Banner and Certificate of Appreciation/Recognition for their service and sacrifices to this great nation.  After the presentation, Linda on behalf of the SSFOA had the honor and privilege to present a Silver Star Banner and Certificate of Appreciation to the Chapter President, Don Kaczynski.
